Team H&R Block kicks off racing season with soaring results!
Calgary-based Team H&R Block, a registered Trade Team of the Canadian Cycling Association, raced last weekend at the BiciSport Individual Time Trial, just outside the city to kick off the 2008 Alberta road racing season. This race was supposed to have been a two day stage race a criterium race on Saturday at Race City Speedway that was unfortunately cancelled. The Individual Time Trial was still a go so the team turned their motivation to making success happen on Sunday.
The racing started mid morning - the individual time trial is where a rider races individually as fast as they can over a certain distance this is a timed event where the fastest rider wins. The distance on Sunday was an all our suffer fest of 20km. The race temperature was warm and the winds were gusting at times. H&R Block riders just missed winning by 13 seconds but the overall team success came by take the next six placings.
Team H&R Block riders took six of the top seven spots which was on overwhelming success for the riders and the team.
Congrats also to Adam for taking 6th place in Category 3!
